I’ve recently been in touch with a new band from Derby called The Honeymoon Suite. They kindly reached out to me about their debut single, Taste-less.
Speaking to the band about the song itself, ‘We wrote Taste-less about a year ago now and I feel it’s a nice example of all our musical influences coming into one song which gives the best description of The Honeymoon Suite. That’s why we wanted to release it as our debut because we’re all so proud of our individual parts and how our slightly different (but ultimately similar) music tastes shine through in the track.’
Lyrically, the song tells the story of toxic relationships, sometimes unbeknown to the people in them.
'It's kind of a shout out to those people stuck in a crappy relationship without realising it. Almost a celebration of people recognising that love isn't always healthy (whether it be romantic or not) and separating themselves from it.'
I personally feel that this track is up there with the likes of Palm Honey, early work of the 1975 and arguably Foals too! But don’t just take my word for it, check out the song for yourself and let us know what you think!
The track has been played out on BBC Introducing East Midlands but would be put to better use on your playlists!
