For fans of The Libertines, Carl Barat and the Jackals, and VANT. Rascalton are the next band you need on your playlists. I only recently discovered this Glaswegian four-piece last week on their tour with my personal favourites, Baby Strange. The audience was somewhat sparse at Muthers Studio – mid-week, Scottish bands, middle-of-nowhere venue – it’s to be expected. But that didn’t stop Rascalton bringing the crowd forward and getting them moshing (myself included).
Other venues on their tour include:
- Jimmy’s – Manchester
- Louisiana – Bristol
- Five Bells – London
- Bootleg Social – Blackpool
- Beat Generator – Dundee
- Jumpin’ Jacks – Newcastle
Their best single, Alone, has over 80,000 plays on Spotify and easily deserves 80,000 more. Serving infectious riffs and Pete Doherty-esque vocals, Alone is an easily recognisable, timeless hit. You can expect nothing but great things to come from Rascalton in the future.
Post-gig I caught up with the tour photographer Daniel Blake who was kind enough to share pictures from the night with me. See below a selection of shots from the Baby Strange and Rascalton show at Muther’s Studio.
